If you can't
stand the heat - stay out of the kitchen!
Great alternative - try your microwave. Meats and veggies CAN taste
great if you know the rules. Depending on the wattage the general rule
is 4-5 minutes on HIGH per pound of meat or veggie (make sure to use a
microwave safe container). The microwave only uses 1/10 the electricity
as the oven, doesn't produce heat, AND cooks in 1/3 the time - the
microwave doesn't produce the same browning effect as the oven so for a
browned look on chicken, sprinkle lightly with paprika. Make sure to
stir and use a spatula to chop ground beef part way through to get the
desired texture for your dish. Try microwave directions on pre-made
dinners from the store such as Stouffer's lasagna, etc. You'll find
they taste as good in less time and you can stay cool. (To avoid
overcooked/rubbery leftovers, lower your microwave's power level to
60-70 percent - takes a little longer to heat, but tastes like you just
made it. Cooking on high is actually cooking, you don't want to cook
leftovers, just heat them).
